Walter is a Philadelphia native who came to Colorado Springs for a weekend in 1995 and never left. He has been connected to Ascending to Health since 2014, first as a Board Member then as an employee. During his tenure on the Board, Walter also served as part of a Consumer Advisory Board for the larger community, representing unhoused individuals in the Colorado Springs area. Walter is 21 years clean and sober and enjoys working with patients coming through Ascending to Health, helping them turn their lives around through sober living and the Peer Support program. When he is not working with his co-workers at Ascending to Health, Walter is an Elder of the Fresh Wind church in Colorado Springs.
